Resource Enhancement Program
There are two Resource Enhancement Programs that provide services, including education and support to (1) approved Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) caregivers (i.e.: foster Homes) and ; (2) families caring for children and youth related to the caregiver.
Children & Youth with Support Needs (CYSN) Family Enhancement Program
The CYSN Family Enhancement Program provides individualized support to families and caregivers of children and youth with support needs. Services focus on caregiver education and coaching, resource navigation, and family-centred service planning to strengthen family capacity and promote positive outcomes.
Using an outreach, community-based, and family-centred approach, the program works collaboratively with families to build on strengths, develop practical strategies, and reduce or replace challenging behaviours. Support is tailored to the unique needs of each family and aims to improve the child's or youth's functioning and participation at home, school, and within social and community settings.
Community Based Victim Services Program - access: Open to the community
The Community Based Victim Services program provides support to survivors of violence in relationships, sexual assault, criminal harassment, child abuse/assault, and other forms of family or sexualized violence. We provide the following services to victims of family/sexual violence:
- Criminal justice information and support
- Safety planning
- Information and referrals
- Emotional and practical support
Early Childhood Behaviour Consultant
The Early Childhood Behaviour Consultant Program provides clinical services including assessment, therapeutic intervention, case management, and consultation to parents and caregivers of children between the ages of 2 and 7 who present with severe social, emotional, or behavioural challenges or have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder.
Family Supervision Program
The Family Supervision Program provides opportunities for children to safely visit with their families and provides direct outreach family support to reduce risk. Services also assist children in transitioning from one placement to another, as well as providing child care, behaviour management, and life skills.
Family Support Program
This program provides outreach support to families who require intensive support in one or more areas of functioning. Services are mostly provided in the family's home and may include self-sufficiency skill building, crisis intervention, and mentoring.
Sexual Assault Services (SAS)
The Sexual Assault Services program (SAS) provides immediate assistance to survivors who have experienced sexual violence and/or sexual assault. This program is available to individuals of all genders (men, women, transgender, non-binary, and/or gender non-conforming individuals) and all ages. We provide the following services to survivors of sexual violence:
- Safety planning
- Information and referrals
- Criminal justice information and support
- Emergency counselling
- Outreach services
- Emotional and practical support
